Lisa Holiday is a senior at South Forsyth High School participating in journalism for her second year. Her passions include photography, writing, and helping others. She has done volunteer work through The National Honors Society and Key Club for Meals By Grace and other organizations. A South Forsyth volleyball player spikes the ball over the net. Souths Varsity Volleyball team played against Denmark at a home game on September 10th, 2020. They won this game with a score of 3 to 0. Even with new protocols in place, the SFHS Varsity volleyball team was able to tackle all of their obstacles and take the lead. Students struggle to stay positive and enaged in online schooling. The COVID-19 pandemic has caused a great deal of stress, loss of motivation, and other mental health issues for students. The other piece of that is the depression state of mind, not that most kids are gonna fall into actual clinical depression, but that mindset is if I’m sitting around doing nothing all day, I’m gonna be less motivated to do something tomorrow.
