The South Forsyth High School’s Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter is one of the largest organizations in the school, with just over 700 members. FBLA is dedicated to creating community-minded business leaders who go above and beyond in their work. Members are encouraged to take part in the various opportunities such as conferences, business-related events, and community service projects.

These activities give students a platform to explore their interests and express their creativity, ingenuity, and passion. While FBLA emphasizes the importance of business and community, this club welcomes students from a wide variety of interests, from computer science to economics and entrepreneurship.

The conferences and meetings all provide skills essential to all professional settings, and presentation events allow students to build skills to become a better speaker. Networking opportunities are also profound as students are exposed to professionals from all walks of life.

Additionally, their initiative of “Official Business Meetings” (OBMs) consists of a business leader educating members on their business’ mission and learning more about the speaker’s career is a notable aspect of the organization.

Just last month, students had the valuable opportunity to receive insight from a State Farm Insurance Agent. Recently, students were given the opportunity to meet with the CEO of Emovid and previous CEO of Evite.

Once again diving into the range of interests FBLA caters to, the chapter also met with the mayor of Cumming to discuss local governmental procedures. SFHS FBLA is sure to provide their members with a platform to investigate their career opportunities with increasingly easy access through their competitive events, workshops and the previously mentioned OBMs.

One of FBLA’s most important pillars is grounded in community service. The South Forsyth chapter is dedicated to making a true difference in the lives of others as they initiate and participate in multiple service projects. The chapter initiates monthly donation drives and also promotes the Alzheimer’s Association.

Moreover, the chapter’s community service competitive events teams host a wide variety of community service events members can participate in. One key example is the work of  Project CTRL M.I.N.D who works with the AboutFace-USA organization to promote their mission of “[empowering] veterans and their families to heal, grow and thrive.”

Suited for Success is another student-led team who hosted a professional clothing drive to donate to The Place at Forsyth in November in order to give people in the community more opportunity.

An outstanding achievement of the organization is their near-exponential growth of membership. Their member count stands at a whopping 722 students, reaching an all-time high of members ever in chapter history, giving SFHS FBLA the title of not only the largest chapter in Georgia, but the largest chapter in the Southern region of FBLA National.

South Forsyth’s FBLA chapter has done incredible work and has earned several awards and recognition. The chapter began the year off strong by winning the Georgia Region 11 Sweepstakes award for the 12th year in a row. This award is a demonstration of the hard work and dedication of the chapter and its members as they prepare for their competitive events, partake in meetings, and serve their community.

The chapter is also a recipient of the Georgia Chapter of the Year from 2017-2020, 2022, and 2024. This achievement is one the chapter proudly holds as it continues to shatter the limits, as per the Georgia FBLA theme, and is a testament to their continuous drive and dedication to the organization.

The chapter is very excited to take their competitors to the State Leadership Conference in March where they will continue to compete in their respective events and utilize this opportunity to network and grow.

It’s never too late to join this wonderful chapter and organization as membership is year-long. Join them as they continue to make their mark in our South Forsyth community and support them for their next State Leadership Conference in March.

“It’s an honor to serve as President of South Forsyth High School’s FBLA chapter for the 2025–2026 year,” said Vishwateja Lingatlu. “With over 720 members, our chapter is the largest in Georgia and one of the top in the nation, showing the dedication of our members, officers, and advisers. From earning Region 11 Sweepstakes for the 12th consecutive year to excelling at the State Leadership Conference, we continue to live out FBLA’s mission through leadership, competition, and service. I’m especially proud of our efforts to give back through initiatives supporting organizations like Suited for Success and the Alzheimer’s Association, and I am so proud of all that we have accomplished this year.”
