As a senior at SFHS, Amanda Rushton has just started her second year at the birdfeed, where she enjoys writing about STEM, music, and pop culture-related topics. Despite being a writer, Amanda is also an artist who favors portraits of charcoal or graphite and has been drawing since elementary school and throughout high school. She has diverse tastes when it comes to music, ranging from metal to grunge and pop punk. Her favorite artists include The Doors, Alice in Chains, and My Chemical Romance. Amanda is also an avid reader and loves reading psychological thrillers and mind-benders. In her free time, she enjoys watching movies, collecting and sorting pictures on Pinterest, spending time with friends, and attending concerts. She is passionate about biology and statisics, where she wants to pursue a career in medicine and public health.
