Balancing+Workload

Balancing Workload

There’s no putting it mildly: the workload change from middle to high school is quite extreme, no matter the weight of classes. It’s critical to mental and physical health to prioritize assignments and do the ones that are more imminent first. Getting a planner is super helpful and blocking out a certain time for each class each day is essential. Spread out your week each Monday. A very helpful strategy is to map out extracurricular with set times first, then daily homework and studying, and then allocating any remaining time to long term projects or, if there are none, to other recreational activities. There will be days where not everything will be done, and prioritization is KEY in order to make the most of your time. Make sure that your life is not just school 24/7. A big part of being a high school student is learning how to balance workload, school life, and family life. At the same time, remember that you are in high school! While high school is a journey through education, it is also a time where you have fun and discover things about yourself you didn’t know.

When dealing with workload, I think you should have a set plan of what you need to do and how you are going to spend your time.
