Organizing chaos. As students plan their activities for Saturday and Sunday, homework takes up an extensive chunk of their time. While some teachers have ceased assigning weekend homework, others maintain the firm perspective that its a part of life.

Stacked-up stress. Youth these days are rarely motivated by school stress; most of the stress has been shown to have a negative effect. Students have reported getting sick or even depressed by just thinking about the stress they are or will be dealing with. A survey by the American Psychological Association found that nearly half of all teens — 45 percent — said they were stressed by school pressures, states npr.org.
