Classes

The saying “don’t bite off more than you can chew” is the quote of the year for any rising freshman. Despite the fact that many colleges look for rigor in your application, they also look at how successful you were in those classes. It’s not a good idea to pile up so many honors and AP classes, especially in your freshman year because this year creates a foundation for your GPA. This is the year to try out what works and what doesn’t. However, do not just take classes because all your other friends are taking them. Think about what you enjoy doing and how well you work in different level classes. When considering the rigor of certain classes, it is important to know that AP classes are not the only AP classes. For a list of rigor classes, visit GA Futures and explore what they consider rigor. Speaking of GA Futures, you should create an account on this because the website allows you to explore different available scholarships, different colleges that offer something you are interested in, and helps with college planning, in general. You might think that college is four years away, but every year at South goes quicker than you might think. South offers a wide variety of pathways to help find something for everyone. When thinking about what classes to take, take into consideration what classes your teacher recommended you for. They have a good idea of your abilities and work ethic.
