Since the start of the 2025-26 College Football season, fans have already seen a lot of fun and entertaining moments. There have also been a lot of unexpected things that have happened as well. Join us every week as we recap the wins, losses, and crash-outs that define America’s favorite Saturday pastime.
Georgia Tech Beats Clemson
In one of the season’s biggest surprises, Georgia Tech shocked Clemson with a significant win that changed the ACC on Sept. 13. The Yellow Jackets’ defense created crucial turnovers, leaving Clemson’s offense frustrated all night. Georgia Tech quarterback Haynes King played a calm game, distributing the ball well and taking advantage of every mistake. Clemson, on the other hand, appeared dull and inconsistent, failing to find rhythm or confidence. This victory could signal an important shift for Georgia Tech’s program and serve as a wake-up call for Clemson’s playoff hopes.
Notre Dame Starts 0-2
Notre Dame’s season has gotten off to a disastrous start with two straight losses, leaving fans in disbelief. The Fighting Irish were expected to contend for the College Football Playoff but have failed to execute when it matters most. Turnovers and red-zone struggles have plagued their offense, while defensive lapses have cost them crucial stops. Head coach Marcus Freeman now faces growing pressure to turn things around quickly. Their losses have come from Miami and Texas A&M on Aug. 31 and Sept. 13, respectively.
Georgia Survives Scare From Tennessee
The Georgia Bulldogs narrowly escaped defeat in a thrilling matchup against Tennessee that went down to the wire on Sept. 13. The Bulldogs, who were favorites coming into the game, found themselves trailing in the fourth quarter before rallying to win. Quarterback Gunner Stockton led a clutch drive late in the game, continuing Georgia’s undefeated season. Tennessee was able to test the Bulldogs in every way possible, exposing some defensive and offensive weaknesses. While Georgia survived, the close call showed that the Bulldogs are not invincible this season like they were in previous years.
Florida State Goes From Unranked to Top 10
Florida State has emerged as one of college football’s biggest surprises this season, climbing from unranked to the top 10 in just a few weeks. Led by quarterback Thomas Castellanos and a brilliant offense, the Seminoles managed to defeat Alabama in Week 1 and then defeating some smaller teams in impressive fashion. The defense, once a weakness, has transformed into a strength, consistently shutting down opposing offenses. Head coach Mike Norvell’s rebuild appears complete, as Florida State looks like a playoff contender again. This great start has reignited excitement in Tallahassee and has reminded fans of the program’s storied past.
Alabama Beats Georgia Between The Hedges
In a heavyweight SEC (Southeastern Conference) showdown, Alabama silenced the crowd in Athens with a dominant win over Georgia on Sept. 27. The Crimson Tide handed Georgia their first home loss since 2020. Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson played with confidence and precision the whole night, making clutch throws in key moments. The win proved Alabama remains a powerhouse despite early-season doubts. This was a very close game however, with a final score of 24-21, showing how good both teams are and will be this season.
The Weeks to Come
There are still lots of exciting things to come this season.
No. 8 Ole Miss will take on No. 13 Oklahoma on Oct. 25. Ole Miss is coming off a narrow defeat to the Georgia Bulldogs, however I see Ole Miss being able to power through the setback and defeat the Oklahoma Sooners.
Another big SEC game coming up also on Oct. 25 is No. 15 Missouri at No. 10 Vanderbilt. Vanderbilt’s great performance has been a shock this season to all football fans, and I believe they will keep their momentum rolling into this matchup and take down the Missouri Tigers.
But those two games aren’t the only big ones happening on Oct. 25. A huge rivalry is taking place in East Lansing, Michigan as the no. 25 ranked Michigan Wolverines travel away to take on the Michigan State Spartans. This is a storied rivalry, which Michigan has dominated the past few years. This year I see nothing changing and believe the Wolverines will beat the Spartans once again.
