Description : The Optimist Club at South Forsyth is a group of dedicated students who are concerned about improving the community. It was founded by Aditya Bhave and was the first JOI Optimist Club in the Forsyth-Cumming branch. Their goal is to bring out the best in students and their community through local service projects here in Cumming. During these meetings, students discuss ways they can better themselves and their environment as well as plan future volunteer opportunities. In the past, Optimist Club students have volunteered at places such as Sunrise Senior Living, MedShare, Change4Georgia, and many more. Anyone who is looking to improve our community’s standard of living for the better is welcome to join.

Volunteer activities (since Nov 2015) : Many of the volunteer activities the club has participated in include volunteering at Sunrise Senior Living, the Change4Georgia Operation, AppreciationMedShare, the Ronald McDonald House Charities Fundraiser, the IHOP Cancer Campaign, the March of Dimes Fundraiser, and a safety lecture

 

Accomplishments : South Forsyth is the first JOI club for the Forsyth – Cumming Optimist Club Branch
