The South Forsyth War Eagles clinched their third regional tittle Friday, November 3rd against West Forsyth Wolverines.

The eagles took an early lead when Cal Morris, quarterback, ran a quarterback keeper into the end-zone for the first touchdown of the night. Ze’vian Capers scored the second touchdown of the night and by half time the Eagles were up 14-0.

South opened the second half by scoring two more touchdowns, one being another catch by Ze’vian Capers and then a catch and run by Jared Honey. This earned the War Eagles a 28-0 lead over the Wolverines. The Wolverines scored fourteen unanswered points at the end of the game. The game ended with South winning 28-14.

The game win gives South their third regional championship. The War Eagles previously won in 1997 and 2015. The last time they won the regional championship, South made it to the quarterfinals where they lost to Colquitt County High School. The first round of the state playoffs will be against the Mountain View Bears November 10th, at South.
