South shutout Lambert 38-0 last Friday Night at home in a rivalry game.
After kickoff at 7:30, the game started off back and forth, but the deadlock was broken by Jared Honey’s 61-yard touchdown. The South and Lambert defense stopped scoring until the second quarter when Jordan Brunson ran five yards giving the team their second touchdown of the night. Jordan closed the game with 11 carries for 89 yards and a touchdown. Then, Alex Hardy made a 32-yard field goal, adding to the score.
South Quarterback, Cal Morris, threw the first two touchdowns of the night to Jaylen Pearson, who finished the game with 109 yards and two touchdowns. Lambert’s quarterback Bobby Gabriel gave up three interceptions to South’s defense which came away with a total of four turnovers.
This game was not only a rivalry game but also a blackout game; it was also the 8th-grade night for the marching band. Lambert showed their school spirit by bearing all white and performing at the halftime show. The South Forsyth marching band performed with 8th-grade students on Friday promoting their band program.
