Saumya Gaikwad is currently a senior at South Forsyth High School. This is her first year doing journalism and she’s so excited to make new memories for her last year at South! Saumya’s enrolled as an officer in JOA, and spends a lot of her time working on her hobbies. She focuses her free time on painting, reading, photography and crafts in general. Saumya also enjoys spending her afternoons in a park, or in nature. She used to play several sports, alongside Winterguard here at South. She also has her adorable pet bunny, which she believes is her actual child. Never leaves his side unless Saumya’s stuck at school or work. She also has a passion for her side job, which is working for a photographer. Her hobbies fill up her entire life, she can’t wait to go to college. Saumya’s very excited to start writing for The Bird Feed and is looking forward to the stories she can tell.  You will definitely find her in one of the art classrooms, bugging the teachers about her portfolio. Don’t be afraid to go say hi! If she doesn’t hear you, she’s blasting music in her poor ears.
