Max Shaffer is a sophomore at South Forsyth High School, and is beginning his first year of reporting for *The Bird Feed*. He’s very excited to begin writing, and hopes to cover various topics such as local and international news, sports, entertainment, and opinions. Some of his hobbies include watching/reviewing movies (his favorites include ”Dog Day Afternoon”, “Eraserhead”,  and “Barbie” being some of his favorites), hiking, learning new instruments, reading, listening to music of all genres and researching whatever topics pique his interest. He also has two pet cats and a crested gecko, and is involved in the school’s band program, debate club, creative writing club, theater, and engineering pathways. This year he plans to learn the ins and outs of journalism and deliver factual, reliable articles, and wants to continue writing in one form or another all the way into college.
