Screaming Silence

Saanvi Tatipalli, Features Editor

If the walls were marred with blood

Silence rings a guilty sound

Or maybe it just means you’ve found

Something farther from this world

If the scene was blanketed with prejudice

Silence means you’ve seen it oft

It’s better caring for yourself than not

Indifference has a wounding difference

If one’s voice was strangled down

Silence means you’ve been taken down

Or you’re afraid to make them count

And you are also being controlled

Silence is the loudest now

Pouring through the pores of you

Wreaking guilt, angst, poison too

Silence               screams the loudest rage
