Monster Creeping in my Dreams

Monster creeping in my dreams

Makes no sound yet drags me in

Silent night and silent day

It is screaming all the way

Monster creeping in my dreams

Heeds no touch yet freezes me

In a spot where I can’t step

Forward into beams of light

Monster creeping in my dreams

Has no taste yet dries my throat

Choking me where words don’t come

Shyness trapping my own tongue

Monster creeping in my dreams

Leaks no smell yet reeks putrid

It’s there it’s not it’s deep inside

Makes me wonder what it is

Monster creeping in my dreams

I can’t see yet haunts my life

Pulling me back into the depths

Like a puppet on its rope

Monster creeping in my dreams

The lurking monster is me myself

My creation, my doubt, my holding me back

Monsters leave if I believe
